My Wife, whom I'd just marry again, and again, just bought me a FNX-45 Tactical. This thing is a beast! Amongst it's many list of very awesome features is that it has four mount positions for a light/laser and is precut for optics. Back story, I've been a royal pest ever since the Kimber Black Ice Rapide came out. Once I found a 10 but well crap! There just isn't hog hunting out here and a 10 just doesn't fascinate me nearly as much as having a .45. On goes the winning. As she can't stand it and I don't blame her. So she buys me the FN and now has decided I need to get some furniture for it. If your Wife wanted to buy you any optic and a light/laser, what would you tell her? PS, just found the Black Ice in a 9mm. She said I could have it if I'd stop winning until we find one in a .45. I guess you can see why I'd just keep re-marring her!

If you ever plan on putting the gun in a holster, you may want to start with the holster you like and see if they offer a light/laser combination for your gun. There are a lot of good light options, but not all are covered by holster makers.

I was going to give you a couple of examples from some top holster makers to show you what light/gun combinations they offer, but a quick search of some of my usual suspects doesn't even show offerings for FNX-45 Tactical even without a light.

As an example, let's say I had a Beretta PX4 and wanted a holster for the gun with a mounted light. JM Custom Kydex makes great holsters, so I'd check their holsters for mounted lights.

I'd find the only PX4/light combo they offer is for the Streamlight TLR-1. Starting with the holster may make choosing the light easier.

Go by holster first. That will go a long way into building a setup you can carry. It is some cart before horse thinking. You can have your favorite combination of firearm, optic, and light. But if you can't find a holster to fit, you are SOL. There are a couple holster makers I would check the drop downs for to see if one of them can build it. White Hat makes a wide variety and have been making my holsters for years.

Black Rhino also has a good light and red dot selection as well. But I haven't used them
