I have the option to get a EOTECH don't remember what model it is NV compatable and I believe has a F in the model number like rev f or something a AIMPOINT COMP M2 thts is NV compatible or a AIMPOINT T1 the AIMPOINT has a gg&g mount and unsure of the others... All have been slightly used but I will be putting them on a AR close quarter set up running regular front site post and a MBUS also a 3x magnifier as well what optic would you guys recommend I am fairly new to AR's im into LR shooting this will be my first tactical type set up...

I would choose the T1. Its the lightest, if that means something to you. Many will say EOTech, because of the smaller dot in the reticle. The Comp M2 is also a good, sturdy sight. You can't go wrong with any of them. Choose the one you like the best.

I like them all thats the problem the EOTECH is a little more beat up as it was on a m4 while in Iraq the COMPM2 and T1 are like new the only thing is with the T1 I have to get a mount for it and the magnifier wont work for it correct???

After trying several different setups I finally settled on Millett DMS-1 and I'm very happy with it.

All are fine, but I would avoid a beat-up Eotech. The Aimpoints are known for extreme durability, Eotech is known for very good durability. Also, I have an Eotech 552 and I actually find it hard to shoot accurately in fast scenarios due to the tiny dot and the huge donut. Maybe that's just me and lack of practice with it. But I would take a like-new Aimpoint (either model) over a heavily used Eotech.

I prefer the EOTech over the aimpoints for a smaller center dot and much fast CQB reticle with the 65MOA circle. However, if it was a choice between an EOTech that had seen playtime in the sandbox and a new AimPoint.... I would take the AimPoint.

The aimpoint actually looked more clear when I looked through it the T1 and comp M2 I think Ill go with the comp M2 around how much do these retail for now couldn't find em on cabelas are these old???

Id take an Aimpoint over an Eotech especially if the Eotech has seen overseas use. Pressure waves from IEDs could mess up internal parts that you wont be able to see.

Yeah it functioned flawlessly the guy is being cool and letting me try them all out I had a EOTECH on a m4 durring deployment it was a 552 I believe my parents sent it to me while it was very sturdy the hood was BEAT to S*** and quit functioning on me that was the only dot site I used... fired a couple rifles with AIMPOINTS and ACOGS but not enough to know what I prefer... Any answer to the question around how much are the AIMPOINT COMPM2's run and is it a older unit???

The Comp M2 is the original of the Aimpoint Comp "tactical" line. So in that sense, yes it is older, than the M3, M4 or T1. I used one extensively while deployed to Iraq during night patrols. When we switched to day, I used either a compact ACOG or Leupold MR/T 1.5-5x, depending on the situation. The Comp M2 will serve you well if that is what you choose.

They are still in production and still very serviceable. The only thing you gain by going with the M3 or M4 is battery life. The M3 has more advanced circuitry, and the M4 has that, plus uses AA batteries. The T1 has the added advantage of being lighter. If you decide that the T1 isn't what you want, shoot me a PM if the guy wants to sell it still. I may be interested.

I would personally skip the EOTech. I don't like the reticle.

The Eotech takes AA's what do the Aimpoints take again and are they easy to find??? Well the Aimpoint is in like new condition still the original box and everything and the Aimpoint 3x magnifier is awesome my mistake it was not a Eotech... The T1 seems cool but maybe ill try it further down the line the Aimpoint compM2 seems better for a cowitness set up with my MBUS set up... The said If I did not want the T1 he was going to put it on it new AR...

The guy said it was a CompM2 and the site says CompM2 149379 but the box he gave me says Comp ML2 im confused maybe its a different box or???

I'd take the Aimpoint Comp M2 for an AR, personally. The T1 is great on my AK, and I've not really had good luck with the EOTechs in the past. The Aimpoints will take the 3 volt lithium battery (type 2L76 or DL1/3N). I got a package of 10 from the Battery Station which should last me the next decade or so.

Batteries are a non issue with Aimpoints.. CompM3s have 7 year battery life and some of the other models have even more. I liked my Eotech 553 however I traded it for a CompM3 and have never looked back.

the M2 is the military version with night vision settings. The ML2 is the same sight, just without the option of the very dim settings for use with night Vision. It is also slightly less expensive.

the SIDE*** my mistake spelling error my aimpoint says COMPM2 on the side along with the number 149379 and the box says COMPMl2 abd it has a bunch of settings from you cant see it at all to very bright...

Back to the subject I really like the Aimpoint the one thing I was wondering about was it has the factory mount with the bottom base and a extra ring in the middle to adjust for height of the optic well my Aimpoint 3x magnifier does not sit level with it because of this and if I take the middle ring out the screws are WAY to long this is the way it comes from the factory so why would they make the 3x magnifier shorter so it does not line up correct???
