Optics help?

I have been looking at various manufactures until my head spins. I have a Nikon Prostaff I plan on putting on my new Ruger African. What I am looking at is the Nikon Monarch but something I think would be interesting is a scope with a german #1 reticle I like te quick accusation charicteristics. But I have not been able to find one. Any help would be greatly appreciated from what I can tell in my price range I would be better to stay with the Nikon. As I can't find anyone short of weaver or Leupold and to get the Leupold I have to go through custom shop...

Leupold used to make a VX-2 with a German #1 reticle not too long ago. I believe it was 3-9x40mm. You might get lucky and stumble across a used one.

Like you said, your options are pretty limited. It's a cool reticle, though. Good luck!

Nikon MONARCH

Unfortunately Nikon does not make a German #1 reticle. They do have a Monarch Gold 1.5-6x42 Matte German #4. The Gold Series is pretty outstanding glass and one of Nikon's finest.

I have several Nikon Monarch's & think very well of the glass. However, I also have several Zeiss Conquests & there just ain't no flies on those either. For the price of the Monarch, I'd look at Zeiss, where it should be no problem getting outstanding glass with the reticle you want.
