OP. I am thinking about doing the same thing! I love my 29 so I would love to get a conversion barrel to shoot 40 S&W. How do you like it? I have seen a few reviews on youtube, but more information is always welcome. Cheers!
I'm obviously not the OP; I do own a G29; don't/won't ever shoot .40s, just because I hate .40s, but almost all the reviews I've read about LWD conversion barrels are positive. I'm using two LWD barrels (not conversion) barrels, and they're fine.
I have a lone wolf 9x25 conversion barrel in my G29. Top quality IMO. I called them to see if they could make a 10" target barrel for me for range use and accuracy, however I guess they don't make them there. I also have a lone wolf 29lb and 31lb conversion springs for hotter loads. I will be getting a standard 10mm barrel from them to replace the standard glock barrel.
Why get a .40 short and weak barrel? The only reason I can see for this is because of plenty of .40 ammo available on the shelves... because no one wants it. At least that is how it is here. At least recoil will be down shooting .40 from the bigger 10mm pistol.
Cut the throat on it to take bullets seated to the same COAL as 10mm. Then load with 10mm data and have cheap easy to get brass that's actually stronger than the real thing.
