I ordered this revolver based on the reputation of their black powder offerings, however, after using the search function I'm surprised to see several old threads talking about horrible QC and mechanical problems. To those that have bought a Uberti cartridge revolver recently, are they really that bad?

I don't care to have a super nice action...just a reliable single action revolver for display and occasional range fun with light cowboy loads. I bought the 1875 because it's one of the nicest looking revolvers I have ever laid eyes on, the lines are beautiful.

Thanks!

My venture into cowboy action shooting back in 2007 started with a Uberti Cattleman, and within 6 months it was back in the shop with a broken firing pin mechanism. I had only put a few hundred rounds through the gun and they were all sub sonic cowboy loads:uhoh: After it was repaired I traded it for a Ruger OMV and haven't looked back.

I have a Cimarron Model-P, which is made by Uberti, that has been good to go for a little less than a year now. It's a .357mag, and only a range toy. Good looking piece, and seems to be well made. I only shoot mild to moderate reloads though it though. No full house. I like it.
