So I have on the way the following:

-60gr Berger match
-60gr V-Max
-69gr SMK

All three of these are new to me. I was wondering who here shoots them, and if so, what are your pet loads? Thanks...

1/7 twist H-bar 26 gr Win 748 69 gr sierra BTHP
good out to 600 yards. can play at 1000 yards but but not seriously.

You must work up the load for your rifle. No two rifles will shoot the same ammo the same way. The rifling twist in your rifle matters too.

Twisters

Most .223 Remington caliber Varmint Rifles are of 1-in-12" twist to settle-in 35to 60 grain bullets nicely. Above 60 grainers, 1-in-9" work well. 1-in-7 to 8" are not designed to be Varmint Grade, but more like 75 grain plus loads. How versatile the .223? The 75 grain Swift Scirocco II bullet intrigues me, but my 1-in-12" twister prevents me from trying it. A 60 grain Scirocco II would put me into the deer field ballpark, but why is this great configuration not even available? cliffy

p.s. Super Twisters

To date, 60 grain Nosler Partitions seem the ONLY premium bullet designed for 1-in-12" twisters, and the only .22 centerfire bullet I'd consider for deer hunting. I'd really like to see a 60 grain Swift Scirocco II soon! cliffy

I will be shooting .223 in a 1:9 barrel...

Does anyone have any load data on the 60gr Berger match HP? This bullet is not listed in my loadbooks manual at all, and there doesn't seem to be any data on the Berger website either. The powders I've got available right now are Varget and H335.
