Oregon Black Powder Shooting

Hi,
New to this form and new to Oregon. Moved here from California where I did a lot of Blackpowder shooting with our club The Golden Bears. Since moving to Oregon I havn't done as much shooting and I miss it. Can anybody sugest a location for plinking, etc. with my smokepole. I live just south of Portland.

Try Tillamook State Forest

Go west on 26, just past Forest Grove it is almost all state forest. I'm not sure how far it is from Canby to the Siuslaw National Forest, but that starts in the area between Lincoln City and Pacific City. I am stationed in California now but I was stationed in Tillamook for 4 years.

There's also Barlow Trail Long Rifles, a BP club/range over by Sandy. I'll have ot dig out my info, but seems I recall they've a pretty nice setup over there.

I believe that Tri County and Douglas Ridge are blackpowder friendly. The Powder Horn Gun Shop out in Forest Grove specializes in that sort of thing.

They have a few black powder shoots and I'm sure they allow them on at least one of the ranges. If not, they could probably tell you where you could do some shooting.
It's near Tualatin so it shouldn't be too far away from you.
