Oregon gun laws improved last year by implementing universal background checks?

Glad to see you got that in. I guess we have gone full circle on this thread as we have on all the other ones

Should I point out that registration isn't needed for a ban?

I'm not sure where we are in the choreography.
Should I point out that WITHOUT registration, a ban can't be ENFORCED?

But then anybody who supports REGISTRATION probably also supports warrantless house to house searches as well.

Why don't criminals buy guns from a FFL?
They do.

Do you mean why do convicted criminals who are prohibited person not buy directly from FFL's? Because they can and do get guns through other means. And always will.

Yes. Why don't prohibited people buy directly from a dealer. It is by far the easiest way to get a gun and you can get whatever you want.

Registration isn't required to enforce a ban. If something is banned the simple possession of the prohibited item is cause for arrest.

Because they don't need to.

Which is why you admit you cannot show any evidence whatsoever that UBC does anything to reduce violent crime.

No. They don't buy from FFLs because they cannot. They cannot buy from FFLs because they can't pass a background check.

Background checks at FFLs have pushed prohibited person to buy their guns from individuals (either in the legal private market or the black market.)

You, of course, have evidence and citations showing that criminals buy their guns privately from law abiding citizens, right? Right?

Or that some people are not convicted criminals and prohibited persons even though they have committed and will commit crimes.

Certainly they would never steal them or buy them from other criminals that got them as a result of theft. No no certainly not

Still waiting on any evidence whatsoever showing that UBC's have reduce violent crime in states that have them.

Patiently waiting. I suspect, at this point, the strategy is to get the thread closed without ever addressing the issue.

Yes, they can. They give their clean girlfriend the money and she goes in and walks out with a new Glock.

Of course, most criminals want to avoid any paper trail at all, thus resorting to other, easier methods.

Which is another benefit of UBCs. Law enforcement no longer has to prove intent, just that the transfer took place without a background check.

So you finally admit that the actual benefit is in creating more criminals, rather than PREVENTING crime....got it

;)This is why JSH1 wins the thread and the 1791 RKBA "shall not be infringed" ,goes down with Drano.

You all cannot help yourselves!

Just ignore him. Resist. But you JUST cannot do it. It's a failing.:(

In honor of this thread, and my exit from it, I'm going to spend some time on Armslist in search of a high capacity assault weapon with a shoulder thingy.

Glad I still live in a free state.

I can do the same in Oregon.
