A type ! mag is probably all blue, not two tone like the later ones. It should have two tiny cross pins in the base that run side to side, through the floorplate, and will NOT have the calber makings or Colt markings. If it has those two, flush ground pin spots (you have to look close, maybe even with a magnifying glass to see them clearly), then it is probably a true Colt made mag. Later mags were marked with caliber, to differentiate between the .32 and later .380 (in 1908), and the two tone came along later for heat treament changes.
