Have a powder flask since the 50's that is the colt navy style and so marked but on the back near the neck, it says,"made in england" & "dixon & sons". I still use it to prime my blunderbusses,(hence tag:Bigmouth). Can't find reference. Did repros start 50-55yrs ago?

Dixon & sons were manufacturers of powder flasks in the nineteenth century. The "made in England" stamp would be correct for items imported into the US in the 20th century. Have it looked at by a genuine antique dealer, if original it could be worth several hundred dollars.

Thanks. That is what I suspected.
