Gonna be in Orlando, Florida next weekend (Nov 9, 10,11) and was wondering if anyone knows on any gunshows that weekend? Also, any local gunshops that I just have to visit?

Hey there, bass. I'm an Orlando resident and would be happy to fill you in on some of the local info regarding gun shows and shops.

Unfortunately the only gun show here in November is on the weekend of the 24th and 25th. However, all hope is not lost. We have several gun shops in the area, some of which have some pretty good deals.

If you want a larger selection, go to Shoot Straight in Apopka off of Orange Blossom Trail (441) just south of 436. Shoot Straight also has a store on US highway 17/92 in Casselberry. The trade off with Shoot Straight, and the reason I no longer go there to purchase anything, is that their firearms are severely overpriced and many of the employees try to hoodwink newbies with their BS. I find that East Orange Shooting Sports in Winter Park off of Forsyth (south of University) is a great place to buy accessories and firearms. Their selection is a bit limited, but the prices are great and the staff is friendly and helpful. Then there's Shooter's Den in Winter Park off of Aloma Avenue. That's a good place to do business as well. Shooter's Den also has a good deal of archery equipment if you are into that.

Anyway, if you have any other questions, feel free to PM me.

Oh yeah, I forgot the Gander Mountain in Lake Mary off of Lake Mary Blvd just east of Interstate 4. If you want a good selection and gunsmithing options, firearm accessories, etc. that's a good place. And there's a Bass Pro Shops in Orlando - off of International Drive, I believe.

I would highly recommend East Orange Shooting Sports in Winter Park, FL. It's in the northern part of the city. The web URL is http://www.eastorangess.com - you can find out more about the place itself there. There is a good selection of Sigarms, Ruger, S&W, plus any of the used pieces that may come in from time to time. The range is $9.95 for the whole day! I've mentioned this business before because the customer service is outstanding. I purchased a Kahr PM40 from them that had a common problem with the followers. They contacted Kahr, obtained the replacements free of charge, installed them for me, and gave me a day's worth of range time to function test. No lip, no grumbling, everything with a smile. http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=292292

Go check them out when you're in town. And if you'd like to go shooting just PM me.
