Ortgies Werke Erfurt 7.65mm 32 ACP

My father acquired this German "Ortgies" pistol in WWII being carried by a German officer and the only problem I encountered with it was that the firing pin did not strike the primer directly in the center causing a misfire about every 5 shots.

I was told in one of forums the problem was either dirt in the mechanism that allowed the firing pin to move when cocked and fired or possibly a weak firing pin spring.

To make a long story short I damaged (bent) the spring when replacing it and need a new or used firing pin spring. Are they still available or have I managed to destroy the pistol by not taking it to gunsmith in the first place? The only responses I have gotten from a couple of local gunsmiths is the "well maybe I could locate" one somewhere, blah, blah, blah, but I suppose I shouldn't be critical and I was the one who damaged the pistol to begin with. Any ideas as to where I might find one?

You might call and ask if they would drop a striker spring in the mail, but if not the pair is still only $8.

Ortgies Trigger issue

This is only my second post here. Hope I am doing this right. I just finished a complete rebuild of a friends Ortgies 32. I've cometely disassembled everything and replaced the sear, firing pin, firing pin spring. What an awesome gun! I want one for myself now! My one problem is getting the trigger back in with the (trigger return) spring. I put it together without the spring for a function check and everything works perfectly. The trigger just doesn't snap back like it should. The spring that was in there was pushing up on the disconnector. That doesn't seem right. It doesn't fit there. It seems like it should rest on top and push into the frame above the trigger, not on the disconnect spring but I can't seem to get it in there. Do you have to put the trigger and spring in first without the disconnect being installed? What am I missing here? Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you. I'm beginning to think that the trigger is not original on this. On mine, the plunger and spring are on the TOP of the trigger. It is just to the left of the curved surface indicated on the diagram. So if I install it, it pushed into pieces 10 and 11 in the diagram. I've replaced 12, 6 and 5 and that solves the problem it was having of firing each time the slide moved forward, regardless of whether the trigger was pulled. I think that the fact that the spring was pushing on 10 and 11 was creating enough pressure to automatically disengage the sear and fire the weapon. I had the (what appears to be typical) worn feet on the firing pin (#5) Can any Ortgies fans out there confirm that your 32 cal trigger matches that which is indicated in the diagram?
