Does anyone remember these? I had one when I was a young kid. Was a plastic handled knife where you pulled out a tab, folded it over then pushed on it and the blade came out the front. The tab was connected to the blade. I don't think these were ever expensive and it was a small blade, but I always loved it. trying to find an image of it, but no luck. This was about 30 years ago or so.

AHA! Found it! It's called a sliding knife it appears.

I've got a couple floating around as dedicated cutters.

One's in a tool box solely for cutting gaskets and another is in my shooting box for targets and cutting patches from shop towels. They stay there and for those reasons because they can be made stupid sharp with jeweler's files which are always nearby.

The OTF folder I keep here at the desk as a letter opener, was the very first thing my not-yet-wife ever gave me:

Yep got few around here.
One is in my tackle box, great worm cutter.

I read this thread this morning and thought to myself 'I do have one of those somewhere.... but where?'

It's in my take tackle box, too!

THR comes through again. LOL
