Otis wants a 1911

I heard Otis McDonald being interviewed earlier this week on WLS (890).

They asked him if he had decided what kind of gun he wanted for his home defense gun now that he had won his case?

Mr. McDonald said he had always wanted the same gun he had trained with an used in the army, a 1911.

I knew he was an intelligent man with excellent taste the first time I met him.

I have no doubt that there is already a commemorative gift version in the works at Springfield, Les Baer or a similar operation. I just hope they think to give him a "plain vanilla" version to actually use as well as the fancy engraved version for display.

The 1911 will be right at home there.

Colt should donate this man a match competition hbar and a blued series 70 repro. Although I'm sure the local laws will follow cali's lead and try to limit the ar platform's capabilities.

If he trained on a 1911, I'm sure he'll appreciate those.

Otis deserves a nice 1911 and I hope he gets one soon. Of course first, he has to fill out a bunch of forms, get fingerprinted, get training from an approved instructor (and so far there aren't any), and pay $100 to register each firearm, and wait months and months while the Chicago machine twiddles its collective thumbs. Otis deserves better than this.
