That's Okay
It doesn't matter.
Remember, the money you spent on ammo last year isn't really an "investment" even though the price went up this year.
So don't bother buying up any sort of stocks of ammo this year. Since the real value of ammo is only realized if you resell it, it won't matter if this new tax causes the price of 100 rounds of 9mm WWB to go from $16 to $26.
Imagine: a brick of 500 x .22 LR, currently $10 at W*M, skyrockets to $60.
That's freaking hysterical. I remember my sarcastic remark about my son not having to spend $80 for a brick of .22 because I'd already paid $10 for it, figuring I was engaging in hyperbole.
Remember, there is nothing you can think up that is so stupid that someone in government can't "out-think" you.
Man, I would take out a damned bank loan to buy a lifetime stock if I saw legislation like that headed my way.
But then, why are we surprised?
It worked with cigarettes. Why not ammo?
Oh, but cigarettes are evil, and shooting is my hobby.
First, they came for the cigarettes . . . but I don't smoke . . . so . . .
Then, they came for the trans-fats . . . but I don't eat fast food . . . so . . .
Then, they came for . . .
And finally, they came for the ammo . . . and there was no one left . . .
