I own a Heritage Rough Rider big bore Single Action Army replica in 45 colt. I get all the razzing from the guys at the range for not shooting something like a Ruger Blackhawk or Uberti. I like the Heritage. They give the facts that they are cheep, not accurate and a pistol of the Saturday night special class. I have not had a problem at all. I don't shoot the high pressure loads like they do. I was told that the Heritage could handle all the loads in the loading manuals except the for the Ruger contender section. I would like your feelings on this issue. Bad opinions wanted also, don't hold back, be honest. Thank you.

I'm not really sure what you're asking. You own this gun, it works, you like it. What more is there to say?

If at some point it goes out of time or fails some other way, maybe you'll decide to replace it with something else. Or another of the same.

You tell US how you like it. You don't need our premission! :)

I wouldn't be concerned at all. The lighter loads you refer to are likely more accurate then the ones the "show-off's" are using, and it doesn't take a lot of power to punch through a piece of paper.

What you need to do is learn and practice basic marksmanship with a revolver. You may or may not have to use "Kentucky windage" (aligning and holding the sights in one place to hit in the center of the target at a given distance), but once learned it works.

Nothing is more humiliating to someone with an expensive gun then to have someone who has what they consider to be a piece of junk, come up and produce a target that makes the one they just shot look like they were using buckshot. Best of all, you don't have to say a word because the respective targets say it all.

Last but not least, in my view the Heritage Rough Rider Single Action Army is a very decent revolver, and there is no reason it won't shoot as well as some more expensive ones. The others may (or may not ) hold up better over long term use, but that's the only substantial difference.

If every one liked the same thing, how boring would that be? Don't let people decide for you. I happen to like and carry DAO Snub nose 357 Revolvers. I don't care if I'm not in with the in crowd that can't leave the house without their 16 shooter. Some people think if you don't spend a $500. to $1000 on a gun, it's junk. I say if it works for me, I handle it well enough to satisfy myself, and I like it, "BITE ME"! You go and do what you want to do.

If you are happy with it, then I would not worry about what other people think, they are not paying to shoot it nor did they pay to purchase it. If I were to purchase a single action, I would specifically want a Bisley Super Blackhawk in 44 mag simply for hunting with heavy loads, that would be specific to my wants/needs. If I was looking for a range pistol, I might consider something other than the big Ruger due to the initial cost. From your post, it seems your revolver fits your needs and that is really all that matters is that you enjoy shooting it.

I wouldn't worry about it. You like it and thats what really matters... Besides, a lot of talk that passes for wisdom at the range is often just a big load of crap anyway.

The guys at the range are showing their ignorance. Heritage rimfire guns are pot metal and made about as cheap as a revolver can be made. They're made in their Miami facility and are the reason for the negativity. Their centerfire guns are made by Pietta in Italy and are actually good guns.

Forget them! I just bought a Taurus poly 357..which many will say is a cheap plastic piece of <deleted>. But I love the recoil and abundance a different rounds along with the exposed hammer. 200 rounds in and not one problem. So to each his own

Thank you for the responses. I wasn't looking to get pumped up but you folks did a nice job. I was gifted a Heritage 22 and it seems real cheep feeling and looking. On the other hand the 45 colt feels like my 617 Smith. The weight, feel, the sounds of the moving parts seems like some quality there. I just like shooting the Heritage. I was brought up watching every western my dad could find on TV. That rubbed off too. Just ask the wife. I just can't figure why someone needs to put a certain make of firearm down. I just wanted opinions on the Heritage center fires. Not all one reads on the web can be trusted. In the adds every company makes the best gun out there but you know the truth there. Next will be a lever action rifle chambered in the same caliber. Thanks again, John

The only thing important to me is if I like a gun and it shoots to my expectations. Those around me can shoot whatever they want.
