I would like to start a thread on the 'Guns and Ammo Handguns" Magazine article on handgun shootability. If you have not seen it they took three shooters and scored them in various drills at 5,7,and 15 yards with USPSA targets with a total of 17 different pistols. 1911's, Glocks, Revolvers etc....in all popular handgun calibers. It is an interesting read. Aside from the zillion variables as we all have our preferences I found it odd that the Glock 22, 23, and 27 were up in the ranks on shootability. Only because I have heard what a "snap" the Glock 23 has (rated more shootable than a G17????). The Glock 30, my EDC, is rated only middle of the road. I had a RoBar job done to mine. 1911s were at the top. So for those who have seen the article, I would like to hear comments and theories about this article.

i have not read the article, but from what you have posted i don't think i need to or want to! you ruined it for me!:) just kidding.

it is hard for me to believe that they would any .40 glock better than that of the 17 and or 19. i have a 23 and used to have a 19 and i have shot and trained with both alot, and i know that a 19/17 is more shootable than there 22/23 counterparts. as a matter of fact there aren't many guns out there that i find more shootable than a 9mm glock especially the 19. huh that is kinda strange.

were the xd's in there? i believe that there .40 service and tactical models are among the most shootable .40 pistols on the market, much better than glock .40 handguns. i own and shoot both.

i am not suprised that 1911's were at the top. are they more shootable than the others and should they be at the top of the list? maybe maybe not, maybe there are alot of 1911 fans at guns and ammo magazine?

half of what those gun magazines print is a load of crap.

they simply favor the whatever companies spend the most money on advertising in their magazine.

yep my thoughts exactly, i knew someone was gonna say it before the night was through.

Shootable? I haven't read the article, but...

If they didn't mention the BHP in 9mm as a "most shootable", I question their credibility and motives.

FWIW, I don't buy the .40 "snap" thing either. Internet wives' tale, IMO. More muzzle-lift than a 9mm, yes... but "snap"...? I don't get it...
