Are firing Luger replicas made? I've searched and searched but all I find are blank-firing and airsoft.

to me "replica" implies it doesn't fire a real cartridge.
there are reproductions from stoeger in 9mm and erma in .22lr

I have either a 92 or a 93 Mitchell Luger.
It works fairly well.
It's a copy of the 1932 Mauser.
The bugaboo is mags. Some work, some don't.
It also works best with higher pressure ammo.
I used to use the old South Aferican PMP, but I can't get that any more.
S&B works fairly well.

Reproduction Luger is probably the phrase I was looking for.

Hmm. So I'm only going to find them in auctions, huh? Always been a bit leery of online auctions. Think I might check out some local gun shows and see what I can find in that case.

Thank you kindly for the help.

A couple of repro Lugers have been made over the years but the P08 is a very expensive gun to make and the repros cost as much or more than a decent original gun.

I think you can find a shootable Luger for $500-$800 and you'd be a lot happier with the real thing.

My mother gave a 1918 DWM P08 for my 21st birthday. Unfortunately, it was stolen in 1986 so I bought a similar gun except this one has Wolfsburg PD markings. Very reliable and great fun. That one my mom bought back in 1976 cost $215 and the 1986 gun cost $350. Probably worth about $1,000 now, I think.

There is a reason why Lugers had the serial number on everything!!
Each Luger was a semi custom hand fitted gun and each part was hand fitted to the gun.
They also made extra serial numbered parts for each Luger!!
It became a logistical nightmare!!
The Germans started putting replacement parts in helter skelter toward the end of the war.
This accounted for the Luger's reputation for unreliability!!
No wonder Adolf Hitler wanted something different using modern mass production methods!!

Last time I was at a local gunshow, a "shooter" luger was running about $595. If anyone happens upon one, I"ll buy it from 'em :D

$595? That's not bad at all. I figured an authentic Luger would run me several thousand dollars at least. Nice. I'll have to track one down.
