All,

I've recently acquired a P1 (post-WWii model P38). Nice, but a bit gritty after probably sitting in a warehouse for 20 years, so I'd like to send it off to someone to check it, make its operation smoother, etc. Know of any 'smiths who specialize in this critter?

Thanks

The P38/P1 do not lend themselves to fine tuning on the trigger assemblies.
I will make a suggestion though, Spray the frame down with a good quality carbon blaster cleaner, don't use brake cleaner, I think the stuff will eat the finish, anyway, spray it down good, let it sit a few minutes then blow it clean and dry with compressed air.
Lube with a good teflon based oil and you may find your trigger to have smoothed up considerably afterwards.

Most of these guns have a build up of carbon/powder fouling and all kinds of other crap down in the actions & a good cleaning does wonders.
