Is there some reason not to shoot Hirtenberger +P+ (124 gr) in the Ruger 9MM carbine? I don't have any of this ammo right now but it occurred to me that a rifle could handle it and make the most of it.

Thanks,

Check whether Ruger rates their carbines for +P and/or +P+ ammo. If they don't, you'll void the warranty on it by shooting such ammo. You can always try installing a stronger recoil spring and see if that soaks up the extra "oomph"...

dunno, but my Kel-tec sub 2000 loves it! Actually, I have a hard time telling the difference between it and regular ammo. Try to drop an e-mail to Ruger customer support, that is how I got the OK on its use in the Sub 2000.

Good luck
