P226DAK: rail?

I've Googled all over the place, and I think I know the answer, but was hoping someone here would know fersure.
I'm looking into a barely used SIG P226DAK, and am trying to sort out the differences between a P226, P226R, and the DAK. I know the DAK is a trigger system, so that part is probably a largely internal difference, but I think the DAK model also has a rail as standard equipment. I think that affects the choices as far as holsters. I already went to SIG's site, and they have like, just way too many models.
Choices are nice to have, but sometimes . . . :uhoh:
 
Any of the newer Sigs without rails can probably be converted to a DAK trigger. However it is not standard. Check out the SAS model if your looking for a DAK without a rail.

Any P22xR will have a rail. If it has an R designation it will be a railed gun. A DAK 226 will fit fine in a regular 226 holster.

No, I was trying to find out if the one I saw for sale has a rail. It appears from SIG's page on the P226DAK that the rail is a standard feature, but that page also mentions a P226R DAK. The DAK and the "plain" P226 look similar, and the overall dimensions seem the same, and both are shown in the photos on their respective pages with a light mounted.
The catalog and the list of pistols on the left side of various pages mention a specific "P226R" only as a two-tone model.

The first two statements, I was already pretty sure about. The last part is what I need to find out. Several holster manufacturers have more than one model listed for the same type of holster, so I want to be sure to get the right one.
 
A lot of guns will fit multiple holsters. However if the P226 has a rail it probably will not fit a non-railed one.

If your trying to figure out if the one you looked at has a rail, why not call and ask?

Right; that was the object of this exercise. Just wanted to know if anyone who had owned or used one could confirm that it has a "Pic" rail on it.

The seller PM'd me and confirmed that this one has a rail. Another thing with a DAK is that they have a "bobbed" hammer, which also affects holster fit. I want one with Level II retention: secure, but not too complicated.

A railed SIG will not fit a holster intended for a non-rail SIG. My Safariland 070 is made for a railed P229R with a hammer spur, but it retains my DAK P229R just fine. The SIG hammer spur is not very large, and the DAK hammer does protrude a bit, so there is very little difference. I cannot guarantee good fit with any other holster you may have in mind, just my particular 070.

Some guys on another forum have suggested a certain Safariland model, one that is made in mid-ride and 1½"-drop variants. I'm really leaning toward that one, since it seems so highly recommended.
