My brother called me the other day and said his Sig P229 was shooting about 3" low at 20yds. I thought maybe it was just him even though he said he was grouping fine, just low. So we went out this morning and both shot it at the same distance. Neither one of us was able to get it to shoot on target. Groups were always low.

What could be causing this? I don't know much about Sigs, or even handguns really, but this seems like there might be something going on beyond our inability to shoot. :D

Next time out with the gun, use a sandbag or other type of rest to eliminate user errors. See what the gun does.

I would bet it has to do with the sight picture you are using. Sig from the factory use a combat sight picture. Cover the target vs a 6'oclock hold.

This might be the problem. We were both taught the 6 o'clock hold. I'll give the sandbag trick a try.

Thats one of the things I dislike about Sigs, the cover the target sight picture. It serves its purpose I suppose....

Depends on the distance from the target, and if you have a recoil anticipation issue.

I've owned 3 Sigs, traded all of them because I dont shoot them well. I can shoot my DA Kahr trigger better than a Sig SA trigger. Heck, even a stock Glock trigger groups better for me:D
