Just put in an order for one of these, and was wondering if anyone knows of a good source for factory Sig P238 mags for a decent price. Really is ridiculous they only come with one mag.. but hey what can you do.

Cheapest factory mags I've seen are in the $45 range. Seems a little outrageous for such a small and simple magazine, but that's the price tag Sig puts on them. I believe you can find Metalform made Colt Mustang magazines for around $16, but there are no guarantees that they are going to work with the Sig. I've seen some reports of them working perfectly, and some reports of people having trouble with them.

Mustang mags work great in my Sig, even though I only use them for the range.

Never seen Sig mags below $45 or so... It's ridiculous.

I got a couple of those too and they have real nice finish but don't work any better than the $19 colt mags from Midway.

Thanks for the suggestions. I ended up ordering from Midway USA for $40 even. I like to order from them simply because of the extremely fast shipping, given my proximity to where they are located. Almost as fast as Jimmy Johns ;)

They are selling them at the Sig Sauer online store for $40. I had to buy one from our LGS with finger extension for a ridiculous price of $45! But hey, it was for my wife.:p:D

I have seen factory mags as high as $50 at some of the LGS. I did manage to find one gun shop that had both the standard mag and the extended mag for $35. I couldn't believe the price but the clerk checked and said that's what they were going for, so I picked up three of them.

Mustang magazines in a P238 seem to be a mixed bag - some folks report they work fine, some folks report they have feeding problems or failure to hold open after the last shot, some folks report they work fine after you take a Dremel to them. I have not heard of any problems with the current version of the SIG magazine. I'll spend a little more for reliability, especially as this is my wife's carry gun.

Count me in as one who will pay more for factory OEM mags for most guns.

    They work as advertised.

    Sometimes cheap replacements don't.
Then they won't seem so cheap.
