Just got a new P3AT and am wondering what holsters have worked well for others. The only options I had when I picked it up were the belt clip or a Fobus paddle. Since this is meant for deep concealment owb belt carry didn't seem like the best option. Any thoughts?

Desantis makes a couple nice pocket holsters for the P3AT. The Nemesis is a basic pocket holster with a very tacky feeling outer surface that grips the inside of your pocket. They also have one with a back panel that makes it look like a wallet in a back pocket (might be the "Trickster").

Also my wife and I both have a cheap ankle holster made by ProTech or something like that.... look up ankle holster at www.sportsmansguide.com

I'm kinda looking for a nice, tuckable, IWB for mine.

We have three P3ATs in the family.... what a great little gun!

I use an Uncle Mikes Ankle Holster every day and it is great...

I also carry the Desantis IWB and it too is great!

And now - for a Brief Word of *CAUTION* - If you are going to order any leather holster such as the Desantis, MAKE SURE they know the generation of the model you are ordering for. Newer P-3ATs are a wee bit larger in the slide area than the Older models are and the fit is REALLY TOO SNUG (if you try to put a New One into a holster made for an Older Model).

Congrats on the New Purchase! Great Carry piece! Happy Shooting!

Here is a www.highnoonholster.com Mr Softy IWB with my P32. Great carry IWB with 13 different models including tuckables.

I have a Split Decision and Bare Assets for some of my other carry guns. All good quality and quick turn around with the instock models.

DeSantis Nemesis

IMHO, this is the best front pocket holster you're going to find for this pistol. Retention is decent, it stays in the pocket well, it allows a full firing grip while still in the pocket, and is reasonably priced.

I have one of these, and I also bought a more expensive custom leather pocket holster for mine. The leather is VERY nice but I find myself using the Nemesis 80% of the time because it slides around in my pocket less.

OTOH, if you want to have back-pocket capability too, this wouldn't be the right holster for you.

If you want to use it in your front pocket, just buy a DeSantis Nemesis and you will be happy. You can usually find them on eBay (that's how I got mine) for MUCH less than you'd pay at the DeSantis web site, and I don't know if DeSantis have any other resellers.

I've been carrying a P32 in an inexpensive Galco pocket holster for about 4 years now. After the first year I liked it so much that I bought a second for when the first wore out, just in case Galso decided to stop making them. Galco still makes them, and I'm still using the first holster. If the holster is too snug for your gun, stick the unloaded pistol in a man's dress sock and cram the whole thing in your pistol. Let it sit over night. That should loosen it up enough for a smooth draw.

An Uncle Mike's pocket holster is functional, cheap, and definitely better than nothing. I never pocket carry without a holster of some kind. I don't like the barrel putting pressure in one spot, will eventually wear a hole. And, I want the gun in one spot not able to flop around. Some guns also demand something covering the trigger, Glock or Kahr for instance. I'm not sure how light or short the trigger throw is on the P3AT, though.

I've been pocket carrying with a small Law Concealment Systems pouch that's really designed for IWB, but works fine in a large pocket. It's kinda neat 'cause during the day if I feel like I wanna switch to IWB for any reason, I can. It's a little bulky for a small pocket, but them I'm using it with a P11 or a small frame revolver which are larger than the P3AT.

The Uncle Mikes #1 pocket holster is perfect.

Small, light, very cheap, and it covers the trigger perfectly.

The draw stroke snags the holster on the lip of your pocket and the whole rig works exactly as designed.

I have been using one for 2 years now and I couldn't consider anything to be superior. Some people cut the stitching on the "flap" because someone discovered that it is perfectly sized to accommodate a spare magazine.

Of course if you need to use a point defence pistol like the P-3AT and find yourself in need of a reload, then

Nemesis is not the only DeSantis pocket holster...

...I use their 'Sting' holster, as it is better at breaking up the outline of the gun.

well i carry mine in an unkle mikes #1 because i didnt bother to size it and had to mod it to fit lol , but hey it works well .

P3ATHOLSTERRETOUCH.jpg

This is the K&D 2n'1 holster and I have found it to be quite good. I carry it equally well in either my right front or right rear trouser pockets. The holster is snapped to a large, rectangular piece of leather which, in the pants pocket, tends to look like a wallet - printing is just not a problem. The extra mag is quite handy for a BUG gun and I recommend this holster highly.

Uncle Mikes #2

I used one for a couple of years (with P3AT) and it works great. No break-in because of stiff leather, which some other designs require.

I used a #2 and modified it by trimming it away until the gun fit all the way in. Then I used a soldering pencil and some super glue to melt and glue the cut edges, so the material and thread didn't unravel. Looks like heck but who sees it?

I bought an Uncle Mike's #12 IWB for my P11. It didn't hold the P11 that securely, but it works great with the P32. All you need to do is cut off a little of the excess material at the top.

I carry that strong side carry every day and it works very well. It will shift up now and then if getting in and out of a car a lot.

When I carry a spare mag, I keep it in the little watch pocket of my jeans. It fits perfectly there.

Carry with the belt clip is NOT meant to be owb. The clip goes on the outside of the gun, the side away from the body. As I use it for my P-32, the gun goes inside the waist band, with the clip over the pants and under the belt, so that only a small rear corner of the gun is visible. It looks like a folding knife clipped to the pants, not a gun. With a tucked shirt folded over it or worn with the shirt over the belt, it is invisible. And unlike a pocket holster, it is still accessible in the sitting position. It can comfortably be carried at the traditional 3 to 4 o'clock position or at a 1 to 2 o'clock position, appendix iwb, where it is actually more easily accessed and controlled.

If you do decide to carry in the pocket, I suggest you look at the hosters at grandfatheroak.com. He specalizes in holsters for Kel-Tecs. I have been very plaesed with his P-11 model.

Regards-conwic

NEVER carry it loose in a pocket without a holster. That is asking for an AD and possible injury. I carry mine in a Don Hume leather pocket holster and it works great.
