I've been having some issues with my P3AT lately. It seems that I'm having some failures to extract. The failures come at irregular intervals (i.e.sometimes it's the second bround, other times it's the 5th and 6th, other times I can get through a magazine or two without issue). It is happening with both of my mags.

I replaced the extractor, the extractor spring and the recoil spring, with no improvement.

Without spending a ton of $ having it sent back into Kel tec, what are some other common causes of FTEs in the P3AT that I might be able to fix on my own?

Look closely at the chamber. I had a P32 that would not extract. The chamber was rough and oversize. I sent the barrel back and IIRC the slide back also and it got fixed.
Keltecs are cheap and have poor QC. You pay for it with the extra trouble of sending it back or installing new parts to fix it. I have 3 keltecs, but mainly carry the glock 19.

Would an oversize chamber be an issue even thoug I've had 2000 or so trouble free rounds through the gun before the problem started happening?

You would think that one of those parts would be the culprit.

Is the ejector still in the gun? It was pretty easy to lose on some guns.

Greg

Keltec will email you a shipping label and install any new parts for free. The whole process wont cost you a dime.

Their customer service is top notch from my experience with replacing the barrel on my PF9.
