We have a new Kahr P40, every time we pull the trigger, the magazine falls out... First we thought we were depressing the mag release button but shooting one handed has the same result. The mag seems to be catching solidly. Have any of you heard of this problem? Any suggestions? We love the size and the feel of the gun. Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi, Just a thought, if you have more than 1 mag, try another. Look into the magwell with a flashlight and see if the mag catch is free from burrs etc. My thought is the mag catch and slot in mag are not in sync. You can try to pull the unloaded mag out and see if it will, you can take a dremel and slightly open the slot on the mag. Hope some of this helps, Mac

Thanks, we did try that - the second mag didn't drop out until the third shot. My husband called Kahr and they're sending a new mag catch to try. Otherwise they said they'd pay for the shipping back to them to repair. So we'll see. They seemed very willing to help, unlike Sportsmans Warehouse who stonewalled us when we went back in 2 hours after buying a $559 gun that didn't work right.

It should be an easy fix -- it's either the mag catch or the slot on the mags is not cut properly.

A buddy of mine recently bought a Sig Trailside 22 from CDNN. 3 of the 4 mags won't stay in because the slot is not cut properly in the mags.

The mag catch is easy to replace,I had the same problem and the new catch made it okay.It took about 10 minutes...;)
