P99 lovers, what are my options?

i want to get rid of the plastic sights.

now, theyve never given me a problem, BUT...they are plastic.

and i want different sights. so heres the deal.

IDEALLY i would put Heinie Straight Eights on my P99.

my questions:

does Heinie make them for a P99?

any other pistol sights that will work? (in the factory dovetail and the front screw on)

can i have the slide milled to accept Heinie's? or can you not mill the front sight area?

i know i can get meprolights for pretty cheap, but i am a much MUCH bigger fan of vertical alignment for snap shooting than horizontal.

I have Trjicons on my P99. Mine has an adjustable rear sight. Not really a traditional adjustable but rather an unobtrusive windage adjustable one. Do they make regular fixed sights?

i was also considering AO express 24/7 big dot or regular dot sights.

any preference between the big dot and regular dot?

I find the XO systems to be of inferior quality, stick with Trijis

from what i understand the night sight part of the AO express systems are made by trijicon anyhow.

now, ive never used a set of the 24/7 sights so i'd really have to see a set before puting them on my pistol, but i have found that i get more speed and accuracy out of snap shots using SIG type bar dot sights. so i'd really rather get something along that line than a 3 dot rear sight system. (ala trijicon) seems thats all they make for the Walther.

I have a set of 24/7 Express Big Dots on my P99.
So far they seem to be well made. They are machined aluminum rather than steel like the Trijicons.
The tritium in the Express sights is Trijicon.
I previously had Trijicons installed but wanted to give the Express a try.
The jury is still out though.
Meprolight makes a good sight as well, but I don't like the size of the dots on the Meps.
My Trijicons are sturdy, but they seem a bit undersized and loose in the dovetail.
The Meps and Express fit the rear dovetail much better. My new Express front sight needed some hand fitting to fit the slot in the slide, but 5 minutes with a jewelers file and it was perfect.

I went with the factory night sites on my SW99 ... which means Trijicons.

I haven't tried the 24/7 sights on a SW99 yet, although I have an earlier Ashley Express set on a CS45, with only the front sight having a tritium capsule, and I've found them to be of acceptable quality and use for my needs.

The Big Dot is indeed a BIG DOT. I like the white plastic material around the front sight's tritium capsule. It's much easier to see than the painted circles on other tritium capsule front sights. Using a Big Dot sighting system requires a bit of familiarity and practice, however.

I found the same familiarity and practice to be required when using the Novak Ghost Ring rear sights, too. I used to use Ghost Rings on other pistols, but a 4513TSW (using a Ghost Ring rear sight with a single tritium capsule) is the only pistol I currently have equipped with one ...

I've sort of been considering trying a Bar/Dot tritium sight set-up for my other (issued) SW99, although I haven't had the time to look around to see who's offering it, yet ...

I used to have a Bar/Dot for my 4013TSW, but it was made by PT Nightsights, and the front sight capsule went dark after less than a year ... as did another front sight I bought from them ... and I was less than pleased with the quality of their machined sights, both front & rear.
