A friend of mine borrowed my S&W 14-2 to shoot some ISSF competitions, he won five trophies with it in senior class.

He had asked if he could paint the sights and it was okay with me, he painted the front with some emergency orange from some helicopter and the rear blade in yellow.

I can hold my ground when it comes to accuracy - just not against that old fellow. If somebody should doubt that it worked for him, he has the trophies to prove it.

I use "Super Bright" Touch up sight pens made by Birchwood Casey. The come in flat white, fluorescent red and fluorescent green and can also be bought in sets. I bought a white/red set for under $8 which I've had for over 3 years now and the "paint markers" are still almost full. You can see them at the bottom of This page but I didn't buy from there because they were charging too much. You apply 2 coats of white and then a coat of red and it lasts over a year.

You can also buy some cheap airplane model paint in all kinds of bright colors. You know, the ones in the little glass jars that you can buy in the hobby shop.

Had the wife help me pick out bright orange nail polish at walmart the other day. Set us back a grand total of $1.99+tax. She declined my offer to lend her the nail polish any time.

Let's see, nail polish for blade sights, tampons for cleaning 12 gauge barrels, Q-tips for general gun cleaning, bathroom scale and kitchen scales for weighing scrap lead/bulk self-cast bullets; seems like I need to quit borrowing my wife's stuff.

heh.
