Painting fiberglass/m14 stock help

I have a black/brown USGI fiberglass m14 stock. It also has checkering on 2 spots.

I want to remove the black paint, and I want to repaint it.

I also want to try and not damage the checkering, but remove the black paint in it.

Any good advice or paint removal from fiberglass and painting fiberglass?

You can buy paint stripper for fiberglass. Strip, sand lightly and paint. I've used Krylon camo colors with success.

Exactly what I did with my black stock from SA Inc. I brushed on the paint stripper, waited fifteen minutes and wiped it off. I used an old toothbrush on the checkered areas and the paint came right out. Hosed the thing down and it looked like a new USGI stock. Did the same thing with the handguard...easy as pie.
