I got a PSA AR 2 years ago at a gun show. Price was below $490 before taxes. I like the gun over all, but it has a "gritty/clunky" trigger, which I intend to replace soon, along with getting some type of optic sight.

Nice. Even before the video I've been impressed by the value they provide. Not the nicest ars out there, but if most of us are honest, we aren't going to be taking our guns to Iraq, or competing, therefore it's difficult to justify a top end ar. I have three ars each has at least some psa components.

For the amount I shoot and the type of shooting I do they are perfect for me. The average shooter can get a good AR15 for around $350 delivered.

Couldn't even get a Bushmaster kit that cheap in the 1990's. I don't think the bottom of the barrel Nessard kits were that cheap. Anyone remember those with the plastic BB filled buffers. LOL

I’ve liked PSA since I first learned about them.
I’ve accepted that they can be slow with shipping and hard to get to at times. But I’ve also dealt with camera companies out of NYC so I’m used to the high volume lower margin business model someof these companies have.

This video just reinforces that they’re the type of business I like doing business with.

I’ve always felt that companies need to have values and give back. Yes their first obligation is to make money for the investors but quality, doing the right things and treating people with respect aren’t expensive. In fact they’re cheaper in the long run.

I like that PSA has a wide variety of ARs. It’s allowed some of us to get one when things were tough and to get better parts when things aren’t as bad.

I’ve also been impressed with some of the torture tests on their ARs. It shows how reliable the platform and PSA gear can be. Knowing folks abuse them beyond what I’d ever do makes me feel that i got a great value. And I’ll recommend them to others.

Larue had there excellent MBT trigger on sale for $87 right now which is a great price. Very similar in feel to the Geiselle SSA/SSA-e . The ALG act is good for an enhanced milspec trigger for around $60-70. If money is tight Right to Bear has a polished nickel Teflon trigger for around $40 usually and it is very comparable to the ALG. If you use a JP spring set you can get these triggers nice

Hokie, if you’re talking about Cameta Camera I feel your pain! Took a lifetime for a Nikon I ordered from them once.

PSA makes good hobby-grade stuff; ARs that fully 80% of us can use and enjoy for years to our full satisfaction. I have several hobby ARs that shoot and function just fine.

I also have two higher end ones that I stake my life on for duty - HD use, but in all honesty these PSA and other “lower-tier” guns I own have gone bang every time I’ve pulled the trigger and they have sent their bullets awfully close to exactly where I wanted them to land. For the value, can’t beat ‘em!

I wish PSA and their customers well

I have always like PSA, just for the availability of products and the cost. Yes, the triggers are horrible but you can remedy that with a decent drop in system. They just had a Springfield XDM 3.8 in .40 (not my first choice for a gun) but it was $299 FREE SHIPPING. That is really cheap for an XDM.

I remember reading where someone called entry level AR's as hobby AR's. That made me laugh, because I think 98% of the upper end AR's that most people buy are for hobbies. It's not like anyone here is buying an AR to go to combat with.
I have seen were PSA and others were put through the passes and had no problems. There was a guy over at CalGuns that did ungodly things to a low end PSA rifle and it kept going. He finly got it to give up after shooting it a few times with a 12ga.
The one big cost factor on an AR is the barrel. If your shooting 100yds or less, just about any decent barrel will get you by. But if you want that 1 MOA rifle or if your shooting at longer rangers, get a better barrel. PSA does offer nicer barrels.
But then there are those that have to have a name brand or spend a lot of money, just to say they have a better gun.
I have used PSA for several builds and never had a problem.
Now there is that one company that some think make the greatest AR in the world, but that same company has had financial trouble for years. PSA has only been growing.

You can put a drop in trigger Timney & Velocity are to good drop in I have them in my AR,S and Timney in some of my bolt guns They cam be 3lb 31/2lb 4lb I like the 31/2lb good luck Midsouth shooters haves a good price on there triggers good luck

Interesting video, thanks for posting it. Even though I don't use PSA for a regular supplier due to shipping times primarily, I do appreciate that they are an innovative company, offer good value in what they sell generally, and if nothing else serve as a competitor that keeps prices lower at rival e stores. Choice and variety are good.

Both parts arrived yesterday and both look great. Not super thrilled about the FDE color... more of a tan. I just thought it would be flatter, darker and earthier. Id rather have black . Oh well.
So far so good. Inexpensive and superfast shipping. Ill update after i take it out.

I have plenty of black PSA M4 furniture. If you want a set, PM me your shipping info.

I may take this to the indoor range tomorrow during lunch just to function test it. It doesnt have a rear sight yet but i think i can hit paper at 50 feet.
We'll see... its hard to get out at lunch most days anyway:(

Wish they would get those CHF pencil barreled uppers again. Been on my wishlist for quite a while now.

M

Their nitride barrels are very accurate. I’ve got a mid gas 7.62x39 AR barrel that shoots slightly over 1” with Russian ammo, and a bit under 1” with my handloads. Could likely get better groups with more load development.
