Hey y'all,

Does anyone have any experience with Palmetto State Armory's complete uppers? I'm looking at this one in particular:

http://www.palmettostatearmory.com/2258.php

16 inch stainless barrel, mid-length gas port, 1/8 twist, Wylde chamber, and what looks to be a nice forearm with monolithic rail.

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!

Dryft.

I've heard pretty good things about the brand, especially for the price. I made an order for a stripped lower, MOE lbk, and upper receiver with 9" Midwest FF rail. I got the lbk and everything today, and should be getting the whole upper later today. As soon as it comes in I will let you know what I think. Should be able to post a range report within a few days once my lower gets here too.

i just got 1 of there m-4 uppers so far i'm pleased 300rds down the pipe so far no issues.only 1 small complaint i changed the f-marked front sight 2 a yhm flip up and while i had the gas tube out i was looking at the barrel nut and saw it needed 2 be tightened just a hair 2 align it with the hole for the gas tube...no big deal grasbbed my barrel nut wrench got it perfect.took 40lb on the torque wrech 2 get it right so i feel very good about it now.

Looks like a decent setup for the cost. If you decide to order from them, contact them and find out who they get their mid-length gas tubes from. Then, order a couple extra from them. The mid-length gas system is not completely standardized, and different companies might vary their gas tube lengths slightly.

Punctuated so others can know what the hell you were trying to say.

I've been looking at that upper for a while. It seems their bolts are squared away and their CHF barrels are fairly legit. Still, I'd like to hear how the SS barrels with the float tube shoot with good ammo before I buy one. I'd really REALLY like to see an 18" SS rifle length gas system with a similar float tube.

I read that at least some, if not all, their barrels are FN. I'm pretty fond of that personally.

I'm looking at a 14.5" upper on a polymer lower for a super cheap and lightweight carbine.

I just picked up one of the 14.5" complete uppers. Reports from the AR forums seem very positive.

Thanks all for your opinions!

I'm with Benzy2 - if they made that upper in 18" with a rifle length gas system, it'd already be in my possession! We'll see.

I have built 3 AR this year that have a lot of PSA parts. I used 2 PSA lower and 3 PSA lower kits. I have bought lots of other stuff from them. All have been great.
