Has anyone had any experiences with the Palmetto State Armory in South Carolina? They seem to be making some very nice AR's and assemblies for reasonable prices. I'm told they're using some FN barrels and other parts that are truly milspec. Anyone here dealt with them?

I know the guy who runs the place, and a bunch of people who've bought from them, and they seem quite competent and well reputed. However, I can't attest to the quality of their AR bits, because I've never bought or used any.

I've bought a bunch of stuff from them and been very happy with the experiences, but (like Vaarok) never had any dealing with their AR assemblies.

I've constructed a complete lower from one of their lower build kits (with PSA stripped lower reciever). The quality of all parts (including stripped lower reciever) is excellent, and reliability when mated to my Spikes complete upper half (M4 LE) has been 100%.

I have not used one of their upper halves/BCGs, but have handled some in their Columbia, SC store. The quality appears to be very high (MPI/HP tested and proper staking of gas keys, etc.). Owner reviews across the web seem to bear this out - I have yet to see a negative review.

I read on another site that they had some issues w/ canted FSB's awhile back but fixed any uppers that made it pass QC very quickly and of course, on their dime.
I believe they've fixed the issue(s) and have been getting great reviews as of late.

I just finished building a carbine using a PSA stripped lower, PSA stripped upper, PSA LPK, PSA bolt and carrier, Magpul furniture and other small parts. The quality of the parts looks to be very good and they built into a nice rifle that shoots great. The service might be just a tad slow but they are very nice to work with. I will be going through them for most of my AR needs. I will be ordering a second lower soon just to have for a future project.

Buy with confidence. I have NO IDEA why their prices are so great, maybe they are going for volume and they just don't mark up as much. But what I do know is that my 14.5" 1:7 upper from them is incredible. I also know that the Lower is great (aero precision, they make lowers for a BUNCH of companies). I ended up using a DPMS parts kit ordered from a different company (avoiding a tax) but I imagine their LPK's and Buttstock assemblies work well too. Some people say it takes too long, but if they actually have what you are ordering in hand that is not the case, both of the receivers i ordered arrived within three days.

I think every one of my ARs have PSA parts in them. Buy with confidence.

They win on bang for your buck. I bought my lpk through them, one with a nice magpul CTR stock and a SSA trigger. The quality of the product is awesome and the price is unbeatable.

Thank you, gents. I am upgrading the bolts on three AR's and couldn't believe Palmetto State was selling such a good bolt assembly for so little money. So I ordered all three bolts from them. The old ones get a good cleaning and lube and a trip to the spare parts bin in the buttstock. Thanks again for the help.

These guys are actually not far from my house, they are really knowledgeable and friendly. Haven't built anything yet using their parts, but i am eyeing their Gadsen lower for my .300 AAC build.

By far my favorite LGS!

They are getting very popular.
I dont think any of their FN uppers or BCG's have been really tested with high round counts yet, but I have their Premium BCG and Lower/LPK, and im very happy.

I wish I had the money to get one of those FN Mid length uppers they had last week.

Big thumbs up for PSA

I do a lot of business with them. I have their 14.5," 20" and mid-length uppers, all built onto PSA lowers with PSA LPKs.

They look, shoot, and feel as good as any of my name-brand ARs. I have several hundred rounds down the barrels of each and not one problem. The prices are ridiculously low considering the high quality of their products and their customer service is outstanding.

They are always announcing new product offerings, usually a new barreled-upper configuration, and tend to run out of stuff fairly quick. Once they anounce the release of something you have to get in on it quick because they sell fast.

If you ever visit the store ask to speak with Joe W. He will take care of you. :)
