I picked up a NIB Para GI Expert for $499.00 yesterday and since it was raining cats and dogs yesterday, I finally got to shoot it today. Took it to the range and put through ~250 rds of 230gr poly coated RN. Not one feeding issue HOWEVER, it is shooting 4" low and 0.9" left at 30ft. I initially thought it was me so I took some measurements and compared them to my Caspian commander with the same ammo which was ~1" low and 1.6" left. I think the left issue can be fixed with a combination of rear sight adjustment and grip adjustment, but the vertical issue bothers me a bit. Do you guys think this can be fixed with a new front sight or is there something fundamentally wrong with the pistol? I am debating whether or not to call Para and sent it back or just get different sight. Any ideas? I've include pix of the shot groups.

just pray you don't have to experience para's "gold medallion" cust service. they convinced me to sell my gi expert.

I'm guessing you had a less than stellar experience with Para CS? That was in the back of my mind when I bought it, but I figured I could use this as a project gun so I guess that's what it will be...although I think it should shoot better than this right out of the box, but maybe I expect too much...

I had a GI Expert, and mine shot to point of aim at 25yds. Had a couple jams in the first 100 rounds using the crappy supplied Para mags...Para suggests a 500rd break in, LOL.
Eventually, I sold it...the Para horror stories convinced me I didnt want to support a company which treats its customers like that.

Para does have crappy cs. I Got my GI Expert a few months ago and. Had trouble with the slide release backing out and causing a mechanical jam. I called Para and the person I spoke to suggested it would be easier and cheapier to just order a new slide release. I would have to pay to ship it. This has done me in on para, but I plan to keep the gun for right now. I like the way it shoots and and handles. I have approx 300 rounds of home cast through it so far and I really want to see how long it will last

My GI Expert had both the feeding issue and shooting low, feeding issue gone, still shoots low. It appears to have a very tall front sight, the sights I understand are proprietary, not standard dovetail. I recently picked up a Kimber .22 conversion, was going to use it on the Para frame, but the trigger was too crappy. I was going to send it back but decided to use this as a project pistol / test mule, right now it is completely disassembled in a box. I will let it sit for 6-8 weeks and then start to work on it, just like a real gunsmith.
