Hey. Searched the forum a little to see if I could find the answer to this question but with no luck. I recently purchased one of these and have had issues with it feeding JHP. I purchased a springfield mag as well as a colt mag to see if it was the mag but no luck.

I looked at the powrball ammo as well as the hornady critical defense ammo as they seem like they may not have as much feeding issues.

Anyone have one of these and have had similar difficulty?

Thanks in advance and I apologize if I am beating a dead horse!

How many rounds of FMJ have gone through?

This is after field stripping and cleaning it?

My 1911s required break in periods before becoming reliable. I have or have had a Para P14, Kimber Raptor Pro and Ultra.

CDR,

I have put 250 rounds of FMJ through it. It has no difficulty feeding the FMJ at this time. I just picked up 100 more rounds today from bass pro that I hope to put through it this upcoming week. I always shoot at least 50 rounds at a time and field strip and clean it after each shooting session. Maybe it will come around at some point. If anyone has any suggestions as to JHP rounds that are shaped more like a FMJ I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

I've had two Para GI Experts(no feeding issues with either) the first was awhile back and I don't remember which HPs I used. In the more recent one I fed it a few boxes of Winchester PDX1 Bonded 230g without issue.

Winchester 185-gr Silvertip. Not the latest and greatest "high-tech" load, but that "wonder bullet" does no good hung up on the feed ramp.

Pow'rball or Critical Defense should work for you. The Pow'rball has a plastic ball in the tip which makes it load similar to a fat round nose like 230gr .45acp fmj. The Critical Defense cartridges come with a rubber tip similar to a pointed 115gr 9mm fmj. Either should feed in your gun.

Thanks for the replies. Hopefully i'll be able to pick up some powrball this week and try it out. Hopefully I'll get a hundred or more rounds through it this week as well.

Critical Defense rounds are not pointed and should feed no differently than any other JHP especially the Hornady XTPs. The polymer plug is inside the HP. The shape of the HP aids reliability in that it has a smaller HP, its the shape not the polymer tip.
