Wound up today with what appears to be a very very lightly used Para Ord GI Expert. Have not had the time to test fire but if it preforms like others I have owned over the years this is a keeper. One question I have and I feel I know the answer before I even ask. Somewhere in the last year I picked up a bag of 45ACP +P rounds, they have been sitting gathering dust since until today when I remembered them. Yes you can see where this is going. Will the GI Expert handle the Plus P's or should I just pigeon hole these for another time.

I dont have too many rounds through mine. Around 400 rounds. This is mostly LSW casted out of wheel weights. In fact I havent shot a factory loaded round through it. When I first got mine I had a problem with the slide stop. The Pin part that goes into the frame was too small. After firing the last round the follower would push the slide stop out enough that it wouldnt stop the slide. I called Para and they actually suggested that I just buy a new one from Brownells. The finish seems to wear quickly in the holster too.

You may want to buy some new recoil springs for your pistol. Shooting plus P with a stock spring is a bit rough on them. I moved to a wolff 17lber and got a new firepins spring to for it. You may want a 18lber?? That's fine with P+ for all that I shot them and allows mild swc loads to still cycle .

How big a bag? If it's a 2,000 round bag, you may want look into a shock buffer or recoil spring/firing pin stop modifications.

If it is a bag of 50-100, shoot away.
