really enjoying my new para GI Expert. Leaning strongly toward another para for my next 1911 and i'm wanting a commander size..

looking for pros and cons on the alloy vs. steel frame. (other than one weighs more.. i get that part! LOL):neener:

I have the alloy frame and have thoroughly enjoyed shooting and carrying it. It is easy to carry and it shoots very well. Never had a FTF, FTE or jam of any kind with it. I have some Kimber eight round magazines that it will spit out for some reason. Other eight round magazines work just fine.

If I were to do it again, I would get the stainless steel version. The Para parkerized finish has been known to have it's problems and my LTC is no exception.

thanks a ton...

you confirmed my suspicion.. i'd likely get it refinished so not too concerned about that.

Alloy frames will likely develop cracks easier than steel frames ever will.

Para frames have been known to do that.

I don't think alloy (aluminum) frames will affect performance any differently than steel.
