I was lucky enough for a friend to allow me to shoot his. I did not particularly like the very short grip, but hey it is a compact.
It did digest my 230 LRN and 200 LSWC light reloads with no problem when I shot it. It jammed on every round with him. I told him it would not shoot light loads limp wrested. He firmed up and it did much better.
The accuracy was poor at best, but I soon found out why as the rear sight moved so far to the right it almost fell out! It was totally loosey-goosey! He is going to get it fixed and i"ll try it again soon.
What do others think of this pistol! Thanks, Catpop

Several years ago I had a Para P10 for a brief time. Short barrel, short grip, Para quality. I don't miss it.

No great review here. But honest reviews are welcome, thanks Catpop. I'll still give last of review if I get chance of shooting it again.

Para P12-45
.45 goodness in a small package. 500 rounds of 230 hardball and 200 rnds of my HP ammo and no problem here. It is my computer gun and is right beside me now. After another 500 rounds with no failures I'll trust it to carry with me.

When you shrink the dimensions of the 1911 a lot of the dynamics if thats the right word, change. I'm amazed Para made a tiny 12rnd .45 and it actually works! Kudos to them for this one and I know it is my good luck I got one off the line that has worked everytime.

Do not expect any tiny 1911 to work properly without being broke in and even at that it may not be 100%. I just got very lucky.

ETA: The pistol was a gift.

I had a double stack para P10, and a larger P13. They were both good guns. I had the P13 a long time and foolishly traded it out of boredom, it was the alloy frame. The small one was too brick like.

Catpop - Based on your original description in other thread, thought it was a Colt 1991A1 ORM Compact (made in the 1990s). That is one of the most reliable out of the box 1911s ever made, ever.

Always wanted to like the high capacity Paras. To me the compact warthog is a good looking pistol. However, it seems Paras have proven to be a "hit or miss" line of pistols. Not to offend those that like them and or trust them. I have seen, heard from colleagues and read of, too many of them choking right out of the box. Yet, if Colt made the warthog, I would get.:D

Iron horse, did not mean to confuse anyone. The friend that had the colt could not make it to the range on Thursday, but another buddy showed up with the PARA- Ordinance. I was lucky to get to shoot the Para, but alas, not the colt yet. Thanks for all the help, Catpop.
