If this has been discussed before I apologize, I've read some parts form BlacknHawk models fit the ROA . Since Ruger don't repair or make parts anymore is there a list comprised that will cross over other than a few screws or springs.? I have some extra parts from Numerich all that they list.

Any chance the triggers will work. One of my three ROA's has a hair trigger that renders it unsafe to use. Swapping it out with one of the others works but the effort isn't worth it, so that gun is relegated to display only .

Yep, that's' a pity... I only need a hammer for one of my old ROA (1984) and can't get it so it's just good for pictures too...

How to make lemonade from three lemons:

It sounds like the you three are sitting on a goldmine of used ROA parts!!!

1. Break your unusable ROA's down and list the parts on EBAY for some exorbitant amount with overinflated shipping and handling.

2. Collect the profits via PayPal from all the other desperate broken ROA owners.

3. Buy a working ROA on GunBroker, GunAuction, etc..

4. Use the extra profits to finance your grandkids college tuition.

5. Apply for sainthood.

Ok. This is an good option but not for me in this sense that I have had plenty joy with this one, my first ROA have the preference but this one is special...
I won't cannibalised this handgun for money and an other one won't be this one...

Your answer is unreproachable but it's n't the way I can follow only for a hammer broken: I hope one day get one from a cannibal needing some money...

Sorry about my bad writing this time again but I hope you can onderstand what I mean... :-/

Reading gunsmith book for Colt single actions the repair by welding re cutting and hardening of the hammer is described, but where do you find a real gunsmith?

Gary Barnes (Hoof Hearted ).
Facebook is the easiest way to find him or just Google him.

To find a gunsmith (real gunsmith an not a seller) in the country where I live is like searching a needle in a pile of hay...
No one of them accept this kind of work: changing the parts sometime but no more, it's like that now (modern style)...
I know that the people is lucky in some lands for that, but not us: we have to do the work with what we can get...
Normally in here the ROA is like forbidden weapon: no class and no place for the ROA in the law.
Other reason: only the people who did buy it long time ago can keep a ROA, so the gunsmiths do not want nothing to known about this gun or work on it and the parts stays very difficult to find...
The hope make the life and so I hope that one day................. LOL

Addition to reply about selling on Ebay, you can also keep an eye on Ebay for the parts you need, may be high but they do show up. I had a bad bore on a stainless one and couldn't find a barrel, someone was selling a frame with barrel on Ebay, in minty condition, cost as much as my original ROA yrs ago but still much less than current prices of ROA's. Swapped out the parts and now still have 2 SS ones with great bores!

I cut the the hammer notch a little deeper, with a jewelers file, on a Colt 2nd gn. someone had messed up. You have to make sure the sear will still clear 1/2 cock notch.
If the trigger its self is damaged the repair is not too bad

Thank you 44 Dave, but think I'll ship it off to Goon shortly, he may be able to address the problem. Sent it to Ruger and they tried to keep it. Offered me a trade on a Vaquero, course twasnt an even trade, or I'd have taken it.

Here is me again, and about the hammer again...
If somebody have a good idea to fix it I have some good tools...

You can see the problem on this picture:

Excuse me for disturbing the initial question

Thanks.

Check Gunbroker, someone is parting out a stainless ROA, if bidding doesn't get too crazy, you'll have a fix for yours! Good luck!

I just ordered last week all screws and springs from Nurmich for my blued one. Stainless one next week. Wish they had more parts available. Ordered a extra base pin from beltmtn

A good tig welder could do it in 3 min

Y'all know that Dave Clements (Clements Custom Guns) pretty much is a "Ruger Specialist" gunsmith, right? If you feel uncomfortable working your Ruger hammer, call him up (1-276-238-8761) and ask him what he'd charge ya to fix yer peashooter!
Sorry it took me so long to find this thread, don't come over this way as much as some.

Fergot to mention it above, but it is also worthwhile to mention that he could also make yer peashooter a .50 with a lot more 'bark' (can also deepen yer chambers to hold more powder, as well as modify your loading port (to accommodate the bigger bullets)! Might be worthwhile fer ya to check him out here to see what all he could do fer yer Old Army!

You may want to change the engagement angle to increase the contact.
