Hello all. I've been thinking about buying a few parts kits while the getting is good. A few to put away for future builds. Specifically FAL, AK and perhaps a G3 kit. Copesdistributing has Romanian AK kits for 115.00. Dansammo has Imbel FAL kits for 150.00. Has anybody on the board purchased these kits?
Any suggestions for other vendors would be appreciated.

Tapco has flats cheaper than Ive seen anywhere else, and rivet kits. But thats only if your going to get serious into building. And you cant sell or transfer it after you formed it into a receiver but it doesnt haft to be logged in with serial numbers either according to what local smiths have told me.

You should keep looking around Ive seen 90% condition kits for $99 in different gun ads around here.

Imbel Kits should be more around $100 like the romy but you haft to get the reciever through an ffl. Most of the receivers Ive found our bought have been rusty and pitted and have almost zero finish.

And I havent seen G3 recivers anywhere even the ones that advertise them say there backordered.

Sorry i dont have any more suggestions on parts suppliers other than tapco but go to www.ar15.com and they have AK forums along with fal forums that have lists of dealers and tips on building.

Imbel kits aren't going to be $100, at least not right now. I doubt they'll get a whole lot cheaper than they are right now. VG condition AK kits are $100 from "Bocefus" on the falfiles. His kits rock. Dan's is good to go as well.

Bob at Akron Armory has Imbel kits for $150 shipped, and his descriptions of condition are always reliable. I'd check out Bocephus, DPH, and copes for good deals of AK kits. Centerfire systems had a sale a few weeks ago for yugo underfolder kits for $100 if you said you were an AR15.com member. Bores are hit & miss, but the stocks alone are worth it. Plus, for $40 more, you can add a suomi kit with drum mag.

ORF has Bulgy 74 kits for $229ish, which is an excellent deal in today's market. There are deals all over the place. You just need to watch the builder's boards, like gunco and AKfiles / FALfiles.
