I had some birdshot in the truck and decided to burn a few up on the head just for fun ;)

I didnt try any of the slugs because the owners manual said to use the IC choke for slugs. Since i'm no expert on slugs or screw in chokes i followed their advice.

Next up was the IC choke. Before i realized what i'd done i'd shot at 25, 15 and fired a couple of slugs without taking pictures between shots. :banghead: I really like this shotgun and just got carried away.
The holes marked 1-6were 25yrd shot 2 pellets were off the target (i suspect low as i was shooting 6oclock of the black dot)
The holes marked 11-18 were fired from 15 yrds 18 which is circled is where the wad went threw.16 was blown away by the slug that hit the black dot.
The first slug is the one just a little right of the wad hole at 25 i couldn't tell it from the black dot  After walking down to see how far off i was i adjusted my aiming point to the black dot :D Needless to say i'm happy with the slug performance

I wanted to shoot again at 25 and held a little high at 12 i think dead on at 12 will be the place to aim..... anyway all 8 pellets in the idpa target

How is that FN working out for you? Breaking in smooth? How do you compare it to the 870?

I really like the FN it just feels better to me. I plan on putting quite a few rnds threw it tomorow and making certain what i want to do but right now i'm thinking the 870 is going to be looking for a new home.

I had a winchester defender for a long time before i got the marine magnum and regreted selling it so the FN has a familiar feel to me. I know 870's are good guns i just prefer Ithaca and winchester... and now FN

Well i was wrong the 870 wont be looking for a new home i did find an advantage to it. If your going to shoot a lot of shells over 300 in a morning the extra weight of the 870 really seems to come into play. The fn started to have a bit more felt recoil before i was done even using the cheap birdshot.

Some of the ammo for the day

I forgot to take pics of the fn shooting the win slugs but it was pretty much the same dead on. I used the cheap winchester, federal and remington ww value packs to just get some shooting time in with the FN it handled them all with no problems.

I saw one of those Marine Finish 870s at my local Gander Mountain - too damn expensive there - but nice!

Hehe, there are pawnshops and gunshops around here that automatically think that
1) A beatup, rusty shotgun with an 18.5 inch barrel- $350, at least
2) Above with mag extension +$100
3) A shotgun with a PG +$100
4) A shiny shotgun (marine version)- astronomically increased in price- +$350-$400 to choice (1) or (2)

Its nuts. One of the primary reasons that I don't support some of the "Mom and Pop" and "Brick and Mortar" stores that people are always hollering to support over Walmart.
