As this doesn't fit, please bear with me.
Last night I went to hear a band in a little winery near Fredricksburg, Texas.
The band was Almost Patsy Cline from Bandera.
The band played "I'm Proud to be an American". Of the 25 tables only one remained seated thru the song. It was then announced that with us were three just returned GIs from Iraq. All were invited to the front and all but that one table came to wish them luck and thank them for their service. Tears were in the eyes of the GIs and many of ours also. They were two men and a woman.
Have a happy 4th and God Bless America.
