Pay it Forward in Reloading

Well this right here is what confused me. It looks like you have to jump through hoops, or be a contributor to this forum to participate:.

snuffy,
You are confusing this thread "Pay it Forward in Reloading"which is "first I'll take it gets it, or put your own conditions on giving it away (new member; 50 or less posts; whatever) (if you claim something here you should offer something you don't need) with this thread:
"Thank You THR - Pay it Forward"thread which has those "hoops" you talked about, and winner is chosen from those interested in winning something are drawn each week.
Hope this helps.
JD

Snuffy I would be very interested in the re-built 450 Lyman boolit luber/sizer and the sizer to make .357 - .358 sized bullets very much. Wouldn't mind anything for .429 - 431 and .451 - .452 either. Great Balls of Fire!

Folks here are great....So good in fact that I have stretched myself thin trying to pay back the generosity. I owe a couple packages still and those are in the truck ready to go, just waiting on the next paycheck before I can let them go.

Sigsmoker, looks like you've got it! I should be able to come up with all three sizer dies along with some top punches for SWC boolits. I'll have to check. It may take a few days to get it unbolted from the bench and get everything rounded up.

Woah ... Snuffy that shore is nice of you. Would you like me to pay for the shipping? I'd be glad to. PM me when you're ready for my address.

Nah, then I have to cash a check, another thing to try to remember to do. It should fit into a medium flat rate box IF I take the handle off. The jamoke that owned it put a huge chunk of hardwood dowel on the handle steel. He was either a limp wrist or thought he needed the extra leverage. The seller on fleabay sent a regular plastic handle with it, I can include it . The base of the luber is also tapped ¼x20 for a thermocouple for a thermometer or for a PID heat control. As I said, the carnuba red needs heat to flow well, so I have one of Lyman's heater bases under it. There's no thermostat on those, so it's plug in for a while, then unplug to regulate heat. My PID for controlling my Lee 4-20 pot works great as a thermostat set @ 90 degrees was perfect for the C-red.

The C-red works great for all handguns you apparently want to lube. A properly fitted boolit never leaded one bit once I switched the C-red.

A little goes a long way, but after you use up what I will send along, Lars will fix you right up with some more.

I'll be out-of-town for the weekend, so the soonest I can mail it will be Monday. I found .358 , .429, and .452 dies, I'll match them with a top punch for each. Have a great weekend!

I'm in need of some 9mm brass. Just bought a carbine. I have 10 30-06 cases and Lee bullet feeder fingers: large and small(one each), Also have a bottle of Lee Alox Bullet Lube to offer up.

Found while searching

While digging for parts to pack in with the Lyman luber I sent to cigsmoker, I came across some Lee key drive slugs I made about 5 years ago for loading slug loads for 3 gun ammo for my son. That never happened, so they got stuck way in back on a top shelf.

I saw on this thread or the other one where someone offered some of these to somebody. I have at least 50 of both the 7/8 ounce and one ounce slugs. These are NOT cast of soft lead, but are close to wheel weight lead, approx. 12 to 14 bhn. If anybody is interested, say so, I'll send them out.

CS should be getting his package tomorrow, there's a surprise in there that we didn't discuss, lets just say it has something to do with degrees.

Bolt Lover, I just started loading .308, and have been looking for decent brass...If BrianC is willing I could split them with him....

Hi snuffy,
I've just begun my venture into shotshell reloading. I could use those slugs if no one has spoken for them.

javelinablanco, looks like a good fit for someone that is just getting started in shotshell loading. I would recommend that you pick which weight you would like to try out. The 7/8 ouncer is a bit shorter and can go a bit faster, with reduced recoil. The 1 ounce is a bit longer and can be a bit more accurate but is slower and kicks harder. Both load fit inside a standard target wad, BUT the powder charges that are called for in the Lee instructions should be followed. Some people have simply used whatever powder charge they are using for their target loads, they get away with it BUT , (again that but word), they don't know their pressure just went way up.

I'll include a copy of the loading sheet that comes with the Lee mold so you can select a powder for them.

I also have a mold for the Lyman "shuttle cock" slug, it too is made to fit inside a target type wad. BUT it is a 1-1/8 ounce slug, slow, kicks like a Missouri mule, but hits like a freight train. I have a few of those made, IF I can find them.

UMmmmm, also I have a .390 round ball mold. It casts out at about 1 ounce, also fits inside a standard wad. Called "the punkin ball", it's what was used way back in the old paper black powder era for deer or real bad guys. Never got it to shoot well, kind of a curiosity.

I just positively located both of the Lee key slugs, counted them, I have 42 of the 1 ouncers close to 75 of the 7/8. Pick which weight you want and maybe someone else can get the others. Also if anybodies interested in the punkin balls,or the Lyman's let me know.

That's awesome! I'll have to try out some different loads, those pumpkin balls sound interesting. I'll shoot you a pm.

Got Snuffys bullet proof package today with the Lyman bullet sizer and other things that came with it.
Thank you very much!
It will be a little bit til I can figure this out and mount someplace but I'll let you know how it turns out.

I asked bds if I could cross post this lot I have on the Thank you THR PIF thread since they are not moving there. He says OK.
