Pay it Forward in Reloading

Thanks for the tips. I assume you still have to remove the lube when applied this way?
I don't remove the lube. It's a very light coat of a white wax. It doesn't come off on my fingers, it's not messy at all.
I just shoot it as is.

Edit - the Lee Case Lube (LCL) does not actually completely dissolve in the isopropyl alcohol, but it does go into suspension.
IOW, it will settle sitting in the shelf.
I just shake well, and spray.

I've heard of using JPW to lube loaded cartridges to keep from stretching cases in M14 service rifle competition. I think I heard about it on THR.
I think it probably would work… JPW is no longer in production, however.
I have a tub that I use sparingly to coat and polish a table saw top. Stuff seems to last forever…

Ok, most of the other sub-forums have one, I thinks its high time we did.

I'll start.

Is there anyone out there who has absolutely no 55 gr FMJ in .223 who really needs them ? Not to have for stash, or to make that pile in your closet that much bigger- but someone who actually needs them and can't find any ?

Spoken for to Horsemen.

Good man, Arch- hope your store comes through !
Why would anyone NEED 55 gr FMJ .223?

Seriously.

For the people who want what they shot as soldiers, the standard is 62 gr FMJ (unless they fought in Vietnam or joined after it was over). For hunters, the requirement is a soft-point or hollow-point bullet regardless of weight.

I still load 55 gr FMJ bullets, but that is only because they are a quarter the price of the 60 grain bullets that I normally use, but at 100 yards, they hit nearly the same bulls-eye.

The only reason I loaded 55fmj is because I got 1k free. If I'm spending money it's 69 hpbt.

I have a bag of 223/5.56 brass that is trimmed shorter than 1.75 (1.73 to 1.74). Probably about 300 pieces of various headstamps. Free to anyone who can use it in the Brooksville/Tampa FL area. I live in Brooksville, but I travel to Lutz/Land O Lakes and Tampa at least once a week. Willing to meet you within a reasonable distance.

I could use the 40, 50, and 55s and the 257s for Dads 25 06.
