How the heck are you guys shipping this stuff? I was in the post office today and going to pass on what I found in my stuff of .357 Sig but when the postal person said $4.00 just to send 21 cases I had to change my mind cause you could probly send 300 cases in the $5.40 priority box which would not be bad.

For 21 cases, I would probably send in a padded envelope. Would probably only run a buck, buck and a half.

For large numbers / when appropriate I use a flat rate box. For small numbers, a padded envelope and go through the automated machine. For some reason it's cheaper, possibly because of one particular person working the counter.

Usually Priority rate flat mail.

But it is kinda alarming, isn't it ?

I'm sure BDS's post office bill is much higher than mine, and I'm near $200 for the start of this thread as it is !

Shipping does indeed add up quickly. I gave away a Dillon press and the postage on that alone was just over $38. After sending a half dozen more gifts I started requesting the recipient reimburse me for the postage. Out of 6 or 7 packages I have received the postage cost from ...... ONE...... person. Just my $.02.

I have a lot more stuff I'd give away but frankly I can't afford to give away much more.

Worth every penny. It's an old powder measure but still very nice. It's gonna be hard giving it away to my buddy when he comes up from Ft. Benning, but I'm sure it'll give him years of good use.

I hate to hear that Medalguy. I feel most in the reloading community are top notch folks but thats a pretty shaky ratio you've got there.

My grandfather always told me he thought there's more good folks in this world than bad, hope that's still stands today. Sometimes I wonder.

Thanks guys. Yep most people are honest and do what they promise. I pick up a lot of range brass and I'm happy to share it, but as mentioned by others too, postage is getting expensive these days. You can't send a post card for a penny any more. I have given away a lot of stuff the past year and never asked for any help covering the postage, but in the past couple of months I decided to start asking for help if the cost was more than a couple of bucks, and unfortunately several guys didn't do as they promised. Not a big deal but more of a disappointment to me after dealing with so many excellent guys here.

I understand the talk, but we should get back to paying it forward. I don't have extra reloading stuff at the moment or I would post, but I do have an arsenal factory forend off of an slr107 up for grabs. Polymer, bulky and ugly, but if anybody needs it let me know.

I have 86 or so .380 and 14 .38 supers to offer.

Also has anyone shipped 100 9mm in a padded envelope before? Just wondering what the best way to mail that. It seems too small for a flat rate box.
