It is a kentuky flint rifle 45,cal 35 inch barrel
like new do you think it would be a good shooter
and hunting gun???where the old ones made any
better than the pedersoli,of today production??
thanks for any info..

I've had perfect luck with Pedersoli pistols and generally hear good things about the rifles too. I did read one opinion that it's best to inspect before you buy as this guy had gotten one or more with cosmetic imperfections.

building these things involves some CNC work and a bit of hand fitting. I would expect that the general run will be better than most original pieces though it would be hard to beat some of the old best grade rifles.

I was just reading something from New Zealand about Pedersoli flint locks, a land with a large amount of Pedersoli popularity. The article mentioned how the Pedersoli hammers have relatively smaller jaws which may necessitate grinding down the back of the flint to make it shorter, so it will fit and function better. It didn't mention any particular Pedersoli model, and didn't seem like a serious problem. Maybe they don't have access to every flint size? Every gun is unique, but there are many experts out there who can help you out if you ever did have a problem.

Mine was made in 1983. Yes the jaws of the cock are small.
I use the smallest flint that I can find and must usually remove
some of the back of the flint to use it. Not a big deal.

Great gun, I realy like it.
