And, of course, we should point out that this video (if it's what I think it is) is not work-safe. It's got lotsa foul language (it's from the show titled 'Bull****' after all), and might have some boobies too.

"In this show we consider the violent overthrow of the United States government. It's not sexy. It's not even fun. It's just... our job."

Oh man, that one got me. Time to wipe coffee off the monitor... again.

Uh, stupid question - did the ceasefire folks forget to renew their web stuff? Because that looks like anything BUT a "ceasefire" kinda website...

Oleg, they're using one of your pix on the home page too...

I am not a big fan of P&T. Beyond their foul language, and selective crusades, they are IMHO, no better than Michael Moore. Even though they might be on our side on this topic. They are too much like Mr. Moore for my taste. They use bogus figures, out of context quotes, and selective video editing to create an desired effect. They are propagandist just like Mr. Moore. If you use them to promote RKBA, don't be suprised if someone laughs in your face.

cbsbyte, I disagree, and for one reason only: In their show (in just about every episode), they point out that they are "biased as all hell", and that anyone who's dismayed at their findings should do their own research.

Yeah, it's been posted before, but it's such a great episode.

It seems like P&T's opinions are really founded in fact and are backed up in a somewhat non-biased way, except of course for the name calling.

The P&T video is a very good watch and highly recommended. It even got my wife thinking about some of her own positions. It does have crude langugage, but no body parts are exposed.

Then thats the point I am making. Their show is for entertainment purposes only, reading anything more into their show will only make one look foolish.

csbyte, I could be wrong, but I think the part of your comment that General was disagreeing with were the 3 separate comparisons you made to Michael Moore, pointing out that MM claims to be a documentary just the facts guy, and P&T are open about the fact that they are entertainers, I mean they're magicians and street act people for crying out loud.

I don't know if General was even remarking about your last comment regarding using them as an argument for RKBA, in any serious way, I know I would agree with your cautionary statement, especially depending on who you're debating or discussing w/ at the time, but I would agree that there's a difference between them and MM.

I would go along with saying that they're no worse than MM, but in some ways they're better than MM, in the sense they aren't claiming to be documentary makers, AFAIK

I LOVE THAT! I will be sending the link to a lot of folks. Yes it is entertaining, but it also has a lot of truth.

In the episode "Family Values" Penn said, "... we're fair and we never take people out of context. We're biased as all fark. But, we try to be honest."
I have yet to see get the feeling that they try to be deceitful or manipulative as micahel moore.

the onion said:
Bull****! isn't journalism, exactly. The show is one-sided by design: P&T's field interviewers rarely confront their subjects with the evidence against them, preferring to let the crackpots ramble on so that Jillette's voiceover rejoinders can score points without inciting a real argument.
Now I think that about sums it up perfectly.

I don't care what anybody says, as long as they make me laugh. To quote O. Wilde.

'It is absurd to label somebody as good or bad, people are either charming or tedious'.

They are not claiming to be unbiased bull**** busters. They are making thier libertarian points, and showing people how some of the stuff they feel so strong about might be BS. I like the show, but I am also a Libertarian so most of the stuff I agree with them about.

This show (meaning the gun one) is a good one.

Even though they might be on our side on this topic.

Even though? What? Unless someone is "ideologically pure" you really don't like them?

I will take ANYONE from any portion of the political spectrum who supports the RKBA.

Great episode...Gotta love the Rosie bumper sticker at the beginning:D

But this is a repeat, which is weird because this thread has been open for almost 12 hours and Justin hasn't shut it down.:scrutiny:

:D

Maybe the episode is so good that your letting it slide?

I appreciate the mods leaving the link up, even if it's a repeat and some of the language is offensive.

I had never seen this before, even though I have been a huge Penn & Teller fan myself for a long time (seen them in person 3 times, have a vhs of their movie).

I just figured I would ressurect this with a new link I found, because this realyl is an incredible show.

There are some NSFW banner ads and language in the video, so be mature before you click on the link.

I remember something about Penn Gillette getting hassled by screening agents in an airport and violating some of his rights. He unleashed holy lawyer hell on them and drew serious attention to the violations being done by the idiot temp screeners, and it was the straw that broke the camels back that led to the forming of the TSA. I heard this secondhand, but it seems to jibe with what I've seen of Penn Gillette. If we need to jugglers and magicians speaking up for our rights, then so be it. I'll take what I can get.

I thought this was going to show them catching .357 Magnum bullets in their teeth (their live show is awesome).

My wife and I love the BS show too.
