Four Sought in Pa. State Trooper's Death

CARNEGIE, Pa. — A state trooper was shot and killed while making a traffic stop Monday morning and police were searching for four suspects, authorities said.

The shooting occurred near the Carnegie exit of Interstate 279 shortly after 2 a.m., officials said.

Police were looking for a black 2001 Mercury sedan, and officers from several departments joined in a manhunt in a wooded area near the shooting, they said.

I hope they catch the perps quickly. Traffic stops during the night are really dangerous. My brother in law had a fellow police officer (and good friend) shot much the same way during the night along an interstate in PA. The case is still open. Prayers to the family.
