People out of touch

Hello everyone. First off I dont mean this to sound like a rant and I apologise if it isnt necessarily a "proper" post for this board but I thought it was worth sharing.

One day at work passing through the break room, Opera Winfrey was on TV :barf: (really, I only watched for a min) This show was about her road trip across the US and they needed to fill up their car (Ford Tarus I think). What was weird was that she didnt know how to use the feul pump.?!:scrutiny: How can a person notknow how to do something so relevant to everyday or weekly living. She tells people how to live their lives and work through their problems but she seems so out of touch with what "normal" people do all the time.

I also wonder about many of our politicians, celebrities, some very wealthy people, ect. are also so out of touch with normal peoples lives.

Judge Judy was working a case involving a drive off from a gas pump, she said that she doesn't pump her own gas but had seen her husband doing it.

Most "stars" or hyper-rich don't even carry any money let alone disturb themselves with the mundane details of everyday life: When you make $100,000 an hour why waste six minutes pumping gas? That costs you $10,000!!!
 
I mean no insult, but why do people call it an "ATM Machine"? That bugs the hell out of me. Automatic Teller Machine; calling it an ATM Machien is like saying "machine" twice. My grandma doesn't know how an ATM works though, so I won't knock someone, even Bush, for not knowing how all current technology works. Ordering from Wendy's is another story altogether. Theresa Hynes Kerry's company supplies Wendy's with Ketchup. Has she even tasted her own product? I would be t money she hasn't.

To keep this gun related, I often wonder how many celebrities or societially elite actually shoot? Of those that do, I seriously doubt any own guns or have a remote interest in them, besides controlling them. There are obviously some celebrities who shoot. A few spring to mind such as Ted Nugent, but those are few and far between.

Actually, the last few presidents have had no idea what food costs in
grocery stores, scanner stories notwithstanding, because they do NOT
shop at grocery stores or fix their own food.

Yes, they will get the price of gasoline and a gallon of milk fed to them from
time to time so as not to be a deer in headlights when the question is
sometimes asked at a public forum.
