My foxlabs stuff came in yesterday. On the label it had the usual "do not exceed 120 degrees." My plan was to keep this in my car, but am afraid it may explode during the heat of a South Carolina summer.

This morning I placed a digital thermometer in my center console (closed and out of direct sunlight - where I plan to keep the spray), which will record the highest temperature during the day. Hopefully it doesn't get past 120.

Anyone ever had issues of spray being kept in your car?

I've kept pepper spray in my car for about 10 years now. It gets 100+ degrees here in the summer sometimes and I've never had a problem. I keep it in the center console, but I'd be in trouble if I had to get to it quick. It's buried under ketchup & hot sauce packages and who knows what else

To give you an idea - in the trunk of a white car parked in the sun with air temperature of 70F- the temperature exceeded 150 F. Keeping it in an insulated container would reduce the problem. This goes for things like cameras and ammo also...The other problem is that if you use it inside the car you get sprayed too !!

I've done this for years, through 100 degree-plus Summers and zero degree Winters, with no problem.

I do replace the cannister every couple years, and the one being replaced always works. (I've never needed it "for real" yet, but it'll be there in my driver's side door pocket if I do.)
