I was wondering which percussion caps that Yawl like? I have both cap n ball and a frontier rifle. Would like to know both sizes and makes. Thanks

I pretty much like the RWS caps, no 11. They are hot and don't get stuck on the nipple when fired.

I use CCI #11 (standard) on my C&B revolver & RWS #1055 on everything else that's not a musket. I found the CCIs weren't always reliable on my rifles, for some reason, but they work just fine on the C&B, so am using them up on that. Once they're all gone I'll most likely stick with the RWS for everything. Have never used Remington caps.

Also use Remington 10's and 11's since they're slightly less expensive, and work fine (at first I thought they had problems, but realized my BP revolver had issues and needed some smithin' - works great now).

ya im with 72 coupe. doing a lot of reloading i have had a lot of fail to fire with cci. years ago i switched to winchester primers and i have never had a problem since then. today however in regards to caps thats all i can get is cci so i just deal with the problems.

I use the CCI Magnum #11s in my Knight rifle and 1858..........they are much more reliable than the standards IMHO, since they have a noticeably larger amount of priming compound in the cup.
